Auchan Food Court

The brief of the client was very simple regarding the design of the seating area of the hypermarket: to create contemporary but timeless furniture that can also be easily cleaned. The furniture was also expected to match the theme of the natural environment which is highly appreciated by the town. The biggest challenge was to create a place that fits in with the non-uniform façade of the dining establishments surrounding the seating area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Only a few questions remained unanswered when the design of the food court commenced; both the quality and the colour usage had been decided and the concept of displaying nature was given the green light. When designing the food court we broke the monotony by creating a platform painted brown and grey; basic colours that provide a neutral base. The wall was covered with a colossal poster which is playing upon the sharp and fuzzy contrast of the photo and the central column was also given a similar coating. The fresh green and white tables and also the chairs are massive and their simple curves can be easily cleaned. Only the playground, which meets strict requirements, bears bright colours.
